Ferrari Made More Money Selling Fewer Cars Last Quarter — Here’s What That Means for Dubai Buyers
Ferrari posted its third-quarter 2026 results on November 3, and the numbers tell an unusual story. Net profit rose 13 percent year over year to €431 million, and net revenues climbed 7 percent to €1,896 million. Yet Ferrari actually shipped slightly fewer cars than a year earlier, 3,368 against 3,401. The company made more money while building less.
The explanation is personalization. Ferrari’s own release credited a richer sports car mix and higher spending through programs like Tailor Made and Atelier Ferrari, where clients choose paint, leather, carbon detailing and one-off touches that can add a meaningful share to a car’s price. Operating profit rose 12 percent to €563 million on the back of that mix shift, and Ferrari raised its full-year 2026 guidance to roughly €7.65 billion in net revenue on the strength of it. CEO Benedetto Vigna said the order book now stretches into 2028.
Scarcity has always been the business model
None of this is an accident. Enzo Ferrari himself was said to build one fewer car than the market wanted each year, and his successors have kept that discipline even as waiting lists lengthen and allocations tighten. A longer queue is not a production problem Ferrari is trying to solve, it is the mechanism that keeps resale values firm and keeps clients willing to pay for personalization rather than simply ordering the base spec and waiting their turn. For a GCC market built on relationships with dealers and allocation lists, this is the dynamic behind every conversation about getting a new Ferrari into Dubai on anything close to a reasonable timeline.
What this means if you are buying or selling in Dubai
An order book running into 2028 is exactly why the pre-owned and nearly-new market matters so much here. Clients who do not want to wait years for a factory allocation, or who want a specific color, interior and options combination right now, are far better served by a well-specced car already in the region than by joining a list. The flip side holds too, owners who took early delivery of a current-generation 296, SF90 or Roma and are ready to move into whatever comes next often find the cleanest exit is selling into exactly that same demand, rather than trading through a dealer network built around new allocations.
This is the market House of Cars Dubai works in every day. We help clients across Dubai and the wider GCC find the right Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce or Bentley without joining a years-long list, verify history and specification properly, and help owners sell into genuine demand when it is time to move on. Ferrari’s results this week are a reminder that in this segment, patience and personalization are the product, and that is exactly why a trusted route to the right car already on the ground in Dubai is worth more than ever.
