Aston Martin Built a Calmer DBX — And It Might Be the One Dubai Actually Wants
Aston Martin has quietly added a new way to buy its DBX, and it is not the one most headlines about the brand are chasing. Where the DBX S goes after lap times and launch numbers, the new DBX GT, revealed in the first days of October, is built around a simpler idea — most owners of a six-figure super-SUV are not lapping a circuit on a Tuesday. They are driving to dinner, to the airport, or three hours up the coast, and they would rather the car felt calm while they did it.
The GT keeps the DBX S’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, with reported outputs ranging from 717 to 727 horsepower depending on the market and the source, and a 0-60 mph time in the low three-second range — this remains a genuinely fast car. What changes is everything built around that engine. Aston Martin has retuned the suspension with its own damper valve system, aimed at smoothing out the kind of long, high-speed cruising the sportier DBX S cares less about. Inside, the seats pick up extra memory foam padding and semi-aniline leather, finished in calmer colour choices than the S’s more aggressive cabin. Outside, a new double-vaned grille houses the daytime running lights, and the car rides on 22-inch forged wheels rather than the larger, stickier rubber the S wears.
Aston Martin has not confirmed pricing. Asked directly, a company spokesperson told Wards Auto only that the brand does not confirm prices, but that the public is welcome to speculate, with $262,000 floated as a rough mark and UK estimates sitting close to the existing DBX S at around £210,000. First deliveries are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, across global markets.
Why the GT Matters More in Dubai Than Almost Anywhere Else
The DBX is already Aston Martin’s best-selling model worldwide, and the UAE is one of the markets that made it that way. But the kind of driving the DBX GT is built for, long, fast, air-conditioned highway stretches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, or down to Oman for the weekend, with a driver or owner behind the wheel for hours at a time rather than minutes on a circuit, is closer to how most DBX owners here actually use the car than the DBX S’s stiffer, track-leaning setup. A super-SUV that trades a little outright aggression for a softer ride and a quieter cabin is, if anything, a more honest fit for Gulf roads than the car it sits beside on the brochure.
It also points to something buyers here already learn from shopping GCC-spec Aston Martins against grey-market imports, the spec sheet rarely tells the whole story. Suspension tuning, seat material, wheel size and even which engine calibration a particular car was built with can all change how a DBX actually feels to live with, regardless of which badge sits on the tailgate.
Sourcing the Right DBX for Dubai
This is exactly the kind of decision we help clients work through at House of Cars Dubai. Whether someone wants the comfort-first GT once it lands, the sharper DBX S, or a well-specced earlier DBX at a more accessible price, the right call usually comes down to how the car will actually be driven, not which variant made headlines that month. We source and place Aston Martins, DBX included, for buyers across Dubai and the wider GCC, and help sellers find the right buyer for theirs, with the same attention to GCC spec, service history and real-world condition that separates a great DBX from a merely expensive one.
